“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, viagra buy who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” I Corinthians 10:13
A Venus flytrap can digest an insect in about 10 days. The process begins when an unsuspecting bug smells nectar on the leaves that form this lethal flower. When the insect pursues what it smells and crawls on and then into the plant, the leaves quickly close on it. Within about a second or less, the digestive nectars of the Venus plant start to consume and dissolve the bug.
In a way the Venus flytrap is very much like the various temptations we sometimes face in this life, especially those that cause us to fall again and again. However, there is no reason for this to keep happening to us from God’s perspective, because He said that He would not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able. Yet God won’t do His protective work unless we do our part with Him too when these tempting and destructive nectars come into our lives.
One part we can do when we find ourselves once again nearer to an old temptation than what we should be is to look for God’s escape route. Yes, that is right, for every temptation that comes our way (old or new) God gives us a way to escape it. We just need to look for His escape route as quickly as we can. This begins by asking God (praying) for His escape route the minute we find ourselves near a temptation we know will eat away at us until we can’t stand it anymore. We know this because we have been here before.
After every victory escape, thank God for the help. Then purpose and plan not to put yourself in the same set of circumstances that led you to that moment. On the other hand, should you have not have followed God’s escape route, but fell to the nectar once again, then remember God will not let you be totally consumed. He may, though, let you get eaten a bit so you will not be so stupid as to fall to this same temptation again. And what of those parts of you that did get eaten? He will restore those too, for He loves you beyond measure.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
II Peter 2:9 “the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation… ‘
