Article 13 Russia’s growing power

“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.” Matthew 24: 32-34

Even though Jesus said that we cannot know the hour or day of His return, He did say we can know the season in which it will happen. And when the signs of that season begin to surface, then He said to prepare ourselves for the end is not far off.

One of the biggest signs we have already talked about is the return of Israel as a nation and that happened in 1948. Another sign is the emergence of Russia becoming the most powerful nation in the world. Needless to say, Russia is very powerful today, but in this last generation before Christ returns, it will become even more dominant and unstoppable.

For the moment America, Europe, and China are keeping Russia in check, but that could change quickly, especially if America decides to isolate itself from the world and its problems. And in so doing turns a blind eye to Russia’s aggression. (Ezekiel 37-38)

I leave you with the words of General Moshe Dayan, Israel’s most celebrated military leader and hero of the 1948 Israel-Arab War, and 1967 Six Day War. “The next battle will not be with the Arabs, but Russia.” Dayan made this statement in 1968. He must have been reading his Bible.1
