Swimming is a fun sport. It takes a lot of time and effort. The goal is to prepare for the race and to hopefully win the prize. Being a Christian is a lot like swimming. You will never get better if you give up or if you slack off. The Lord says that He will be with us even through hard situations. When you swim you need to obey and listen to your coach. It is the same with God. We should listen and obey no matter how hard things seem to be. You will never finish the race if you give up.
Just like practicing makes you better, going through hard situations makes you stronger. Don’t take the wrong path, or the easy way out. You will mess up your whole life and miss out on a lot of blessings that God has in store for you. Being a Christian can be fun, too, knowing that God wants the best for us even if things are difficult sometimes. Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” That should be the example for all of us. It is the best time for us to learn to know God better, and experience His blessings. Hang in there.
