Wants and Needs
A self-centered prayer life often mixes up needs and wants, viagra sale ailment thus causing disappointment and confusion when prayer expectations are not met by God. It is important that you teach your children to learn the difference between need and want. And then they should know that God has only committed Himself to meeting their needs as evidenced in Phillippians 4:19 ” And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
But if your children can’t always discern between need and want, viagra generic He still deeply loves them (Psalm 139:17) and delights in their prayers (Psalm 37:4). He designed (Jeremiah 29:11-12) each of your children with an individual purpose and plan. And that includes granting their needs and even their wants. Prayer is their ultimate act of depending on God, always encourage them accordingly.
As you pray with your children each night concerning their own personal needs and wants, remind them during this time of God’s great love for them. There is nothing He would not do for them, if they would just ask. (Matthew 7:7-11) Tell them that as much as you look forward to being with them during this prayer time, God desires being with them even more. Put in their mind a picture of One who loves them so much that He just can’t stand not being there during the prayer time. Explain the thinking of God during this time. Psalm 139: 27-28 states it very well. His good thoughts of your children are too numerous to count, they are like the sand of the sea.
In respect to your explanation concerning God’s thoughts during prayer time, take out an old family photo; one that contains many relatives. Ask your children to identify everyone in the photo. Solicit their description of the pictured event. . Then take a piece of paper and cover the entire photo. Take out a pair of scissors and proceed to cut out a small circular portion of the covering paper. Place the cut out portion over the face of one of your children, so that nothing else can be seen in the photo except that child. Conclude with this thought: amidst all of the love God has for everyone in this world (this is what the photo stands for) He still has time for you. He is always there listening to your prayers. So ask away! He ís listening!
