A few weeks ago President Trump announced that Jerusalem would be recognized as the capital of Israel and that eventually the American embassy would be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Only a few countries of the United Nations (6 out of 156) voted with the USA on such a political move; Guatemala was one of those, and recently declared it would also move its embassy to Jerusalem.
How significant is this with respect to what the Bible teaches about the events surrounding the end times? I am not sure to tell you the truth, but what I do know is that at the end of time before Jesus returns to earth, Jerusalem, including its old original city, will be under complete Jewish control. This is what the Bible teaches, and so far it has proven to be 100% correct with all of its prophesies and predictions about the future. Even if most of the nations of the world, including every Arab nation, Muslim believer, or Palestinian resident, continue to stand against the Jews in respect to Jerusalem, their efforts will all be in vain according to the Scriptures.
So, is Trump’s declaration concerning Jerusalem as the capital of Israel significant? You bet it is! Every change that takes place with Jerusalem and Israel now brings us a step closer to Christ’s coming and the end of the world as we know it.
In the coming weeks, I will share in a series of short articles about how this might shake out according to so many predictive and prophetic Scriptures.
Do I know the time of Christ’s coming which brings the final end to this world? Absolutely not, for the Scripture does not allow me or anyone else to know of this day. However, God does want us to know the season leading up to and surrounding this day. One of those events is complete Jewish control of Jerusalem, including its old city, which for the moment is being shared by a Jewish quarter, Armenian quarter, Christian quarter, and Muslim quarter. But not for long I suspect, for I have recently been to this old city where so much prophetically is going on. And all I can say is, “More change is a-coming!” Perhaps without realizing it, Trump made sure of this with his recent declaration about Jerusalem.
Matthew 24:32-36 32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; 33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of heaven.”
